Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin naturally found in animal products, including fish, meat, poultry, eggs, milk, and milk products. As a water-soluble vitamin, vitamin B12 cannot be stored in the body and needs to be regularly present in your diet. If the level of vitamin B12 stays low for a long time, it can damage your nerve cells.
No worries about a possible B12 deficiency, Jake contains the right amount of vitamin B12.
The amino acids that pea protein misses are cysteine and methionine, which are rich in oats – the main ingredient of Jake.
The peas and oats together form a perfect plant-based protein profile. But peas and oats alone are not everything your body needs.
To make sure that the vegan meals contains everything you need we added fats, carbs, vitamins and minerals from our Dutch suppliers. The vitamins and minerals are added according to the recommendations by the European Food Safety Authority. All these ingredients combine to a plant-based shake or bar.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) the livestock sector generates 18% of the total release of greenhouse gases worldwide, which is more than for example transport. Furthermore, the livestock sector also is one of the main reasons of environmental problems like soil pollution and water pollution.
Right now, the global livestock sector is growing faster than any other agricultural sector. It currently produces more than four times the quantity of meat as it did fifty years ago. The world’s population on the other hand has only doubled since the 1960s. The growth of these stats are quite concerning, since this means that the amount of greenhouse gasses, water- and land usage is also quadrupled over these years.
It may seem like you as an individual can’t do much about this, but one vegan can already make a serious difference.
To make your vegan diet easier, a product that contains everything your body needs to be healthy would be amazing. Introducing complete vegan food: the shakes, vitaminbars and ready to drink.
