The vitaminbar Caramel Sea Salt is oat-like and has a delicious caramel flavour with tasty pieces of sea salt. The texture of the bar can be described as slightly grainy. High protein bars often contain glycerol as a humectant. Glycerol has a laxative effect, which is why the vitaminbar does not contain glycerol, and you can therefore experience a slightly gritty feeling while eating a bar.

The vitaminbar is chewy, oaty, fruity and a bit grainy. Typically, bars with a high protein content contain glycerol as a humectant. Glycerol makes bars smooth and moist, but also acts as a laxative. Which is why you don’t find it in the vitaminbar. Therefore, the vitaminbar has a bit of a grainy mouthfeel to it.
Just like the shakes, the bars are a form of complete food. The Vitaminbar provides you with every nutrient you need. Adding to that, we’ve upped the amount of vitamins and minerals to 25% of your daily amount per bar to give you a micronutrient boost. That’s why it’s called the Vitaminbar. Although, at 20 grams of protein per bar, it could well be called a protein bar too.
Although it’s not a complete meal, the bar definitely is a pretty filling snack or light meal. It provides 333 kcal, which is comparable to a cheese sandwich. The bar is rich in fibre and rich in protein, due to which it’s more satiating than your average ~333 kcal snack. It fills for about 3 to 4 hours.

This truly is the only powder I keep coming back to. I’ve tried Huel, Soylent and Jimmyjoy and others but Jake Shake is the first to have me say, “I like this!” I still split between this and Jimmyjoy but if I had to choose, it would be Jake. Quick delivery, great goods and so far, no complaints from me.
I tried a couple of similar products over the last years. The shakes are individually packaged and the powder is easily dissolved (no lumps) which makes it great for travel. I prefer the pea protein over soy, it takes some getting used to but most flavors cover it up pretty well.
